Prepare to "PAR-TAY" at the Cartoonival!

Posted by The Toontown Team on August 20, 2024 at 2:00 PM

August 20th marked a gloomy day for the future of Toontown once upon a time when Disney announced the closure of Toontown Online. There would be no more Cog Battles, completing endless ToonTasks for shopkeepers, or planning Toon Parties because, on September 19th, 2013, Toontown would disappear forever. Fortunately, a band of brave Toons united together on MMO Central Forums to save Toontown! Ten years down the line Toontown is alive, thriving, and as Toontastic as ever!

September 19th, which was once a day of sadness, has fittingly been rewritten as a day of joy. This day marks the start of the Cartoonival – Toontown’s biggest party... or, in the words of the Tooniverse's hare-brained host with the most, Riggy Marole: "PAR-TAY!"

The Cartoonival is coming soon and is only 1 month away now! So without further ado, let’s get the rigmarole started and take a look at what is to come:

What is Toontown's Cartoonival?

The Cartoonival is Toontown’s greatest party celebration of the year and you’re invited! There are plenty of games to participate in, funky fair prizes to win, and the rabbit bean billionaire; our emcee extraordinaire, Riggy Marole, to keep you entertained throughout!

Want a Slice of the Fun?

  • To join the party head over to Acorn Acres and follow the tunnel leading to the Cartoonival Grounds. Or, click on the handy-dandy red button in the top right corner of your screen which will teleport you straight there!

  • Marvel at the Cartoonival Tower and be careful not to get too dizzy on its spinning platforms!

  • Inside the tower, you’ll find a team of Token Takers offering a fabulous array of special items, accessories, and two unique Toon colors, purchasable only at the Cartoonival!

  • Token Takers don’t accept jellybeans, so you’ll need to earn Cartoonival Tokens to get your gloves on their goodies. Participate in fun activities to build up your bank in no time!

  • Collect jellybean and Cartoonival Token bags scattered around the grounds. Riggy Marole is so rich, he decides to ditch his excess beans at the Cartoonival every year!

  • Every three hours, you can gaze at an extravagant fireworks display that lights up the grounds. Nostalgic Toontown music will accompany this spectacular show!

  • Strike up a conversation with Riggy Marole, the iconic rabbit in charge of celebrations at the Cartoonival! He can be found strolling around the grounds.

  • Parade around town with the Cartoonival Cavalcade! At every half-past the hour, Riggy tows a massive float (costing millions of his own jellybeans!) down a random street in Toontown. Visit the Cartoonival Grounds five minutes before the Cavalcade starts to find out the parade’s location.

  • Take on limited-time ToonTasks! Chat with Task Takers in the Cartoonival Grounds or Token Taskers in various Playgrounds to collect these and win exciting rewards!

  • Work with other Toons to dunk Cleff at the Duck Tank using pies purchased from vendors. The more you dunk him, the more prizes you earn!

  • Level up your Toon! You can buy Gag Experience Multipliers from Token Takers at Merry Multiplier vendors to help you get your gags faster.

Missing Multipliers?

Regular Cartoonival attendees may be surprised to not find Cog Promotion Multipliers sold at the Merry Multiplier stands this year. The Toontown Team has decided to no longer include these, as we feel this is in the best interest of the game. The Under New Management expansion made changes to Cog Disguise Promotions, and if these multipliers were to remain it would disturb the balance of the endgame grind. Promotion requirements have been lowered and facilities are more time efficient now, so it is significantly easier to level up your Cog Disguise - you don’t need the multipliers now to progress your Toon quickly in the game!

We want to encourage Toons to have as much Toontown fun as possible and play ALL year round. Historically, these multipliers have encouraged Toons to only play Toontown during the Cartoonival season. With all of that in mind, we hope that you can understand our decision and agree that Toontown is merrier without those multipliers.

What's There to Celebrate?

As the year of Toontown RewritTEN closes and the 11th birthday fast approaches, we celebrate that Toontown Rewritten has been going strong for 10 years and counting! An incredible achievement for a community-led, family-friendly MMO game. Not only that, but this year brand new game content has been added to Toontown with the release of Under New Management. Cog Facilities have undergone corporate restructuring and now have four new Supervisors for Toons to battle! ToonFest has also been a BIG success this year. With the largest booth on record, exclusive merch, and new events, such as the iconic game show Funny Feud, it will surely be a ToonFest to remember.

There have also been exciting announcements to share! On the horizon are not only one but TWO ToonFests, one taking place this winter at GalaxyCon Columbus and one next summer in Orlando! The team is working hard to bring more thrilling updates to Toontown. Construction of a new beach-themed playground, Clear Coasts, is underway and so is the Toontown Remastered project, which will touch up the Toontown textures and sounds to make the game more beautiful than ever before!

Frankly, I don't think I'm going to miss the cog XP multipliers too much. I do wish the endgame grind were at least a tiny bit lower, or maybe rewards easier to get (The club president can swing that club pretty hard, in the fringe at least. And I already thought unites needed to be buffed before Under New Management), but at least it's not like it takes several hours to get a single "Max Options" promotion like it used to. Thanks for that!

That's really disappointing. The cog suit promo was the only thing worth getting after getting all the clothing items.

It's going to be a very frosty Cartoonival this year, isn't it? I say this since with as many Cold Caller Cubicles I've had to work in this past month in my Level 26 Cold Caller 2.0 Suit for Merits and Sleuth work for a brain freeze doctor down in The Brrrgh, even I can't help but feel a chill going through my own feathers. Perhaps bring some coco to this years Cartoonival? No need for the rollercoaster, I say you have a perfectly good Flunky Slope for a bit of a Toboggin Race. Similar to a Sled Race, but much more running from Yeti Big Wigs and evading Big Cheese Trees... Well I never said it was a Rabbit Slope did I? I said a Flunky Slope! Hah! Oh, but let's not dwell on that now. For now, the Sellbots must prepare the VP for Halloween! Haha! Yes! We already know how festive the VP is in Christmas, it's time for the VP to fashion a pumpkin head himself this Halloween. All in good time though. I'll be sure to stop by the Cartoonival next month as fast as I can.

*speechless* *mumbling* W-W-What!? E-E-ELEVEN YEARS!? That's crazy! I might not have been playing that long, but that's crazy! You are outlasting THE Toontown. (Really, the "Toontown" in "Toontown Online" is more of an honorary title since it's the original, but if it wasn't the OG, it wouldn't have "Toontown" in it because the bar -of ...goodness?- has been raised so high because of all the other AWESOME Toontown private servers.)

Geez, eleven years... Twenty one counting the original timeline... Cogs sure took a lotta land in that time too, The Infinite District, The Reborn District, The House District... Lot of Toontowns getting turned into Cog Nation... All that's left in the Tooniverse is what they're calling "The Write Off District" and "The Corporate District"... Though, don't tell the Bottom Feeder who I overheard it from on Loopy Lane... Cog Nation maybe big, but our town should be safe... We don't deal with as many Cogs as other towns... Have you heard of these separate branches The Cogs have? Astrobots? Techbots? Pressbots? Politibots? Boardbots?! Geez Louise, I didn't know Cogs could turn wooden boards into a whole new ladder... Nah, I think we'll stick to the main 4... Now, if you'll excuse me, this Cat's going back to bed in the "All Tucked Inn" here in Dreamland...

P.S. I guess the corporate ladder if ya put them all together would be... Astrobots do the research, Techbots create the blueprints, Sellbots make the products, Cashbots deal with the profits, Pressbots give the Cogs a good look, Lawbots deal with the legal stuff, Bossbots make sure everyone below them is in line, Politibots vote for who should be on the Board, Boardbots come up with the plan to ask the Astrobots to research how to do it. The Corporate Circle!

PHEW! I thought this blog post would be a Cog announcement of their next and biggest invasion on that fateful day. Glad it's just a Cartoonival announcement. Gee, I can't wait for all the fun that's in store, especially the cavalcade! I sure do love leading the parade, hehe! Oh, and don't get me started on those prizes (and bowties). I just love collecting, and wearing those fancy accessories! It just fits with my usual everyday outfits. It's gonna be a BLAST! ...But just in case something goes screwy, I've stocked up on pies just in case any Cogs are out there scheming, you'll never know when those rusty bolt-brains will strike.

Devastated with no cog XP multipliers been waiting all year for them gg thanks 4 ruin

Nathan said on August 23, 2024 at 9:50 AM
Please consider bringing the cog XP multipliers. Even with the restructure of facilities it's still a drastic measure to remove something people primarily look forward to using yearly. Big disappointment

Barget Wondersnout said on August 23, 2024 at 3:17 PM
I'll be honest, I'm gonna miss the Promo multipliers this year, but I understand how they wouldn't be of much use because of the update. Guess I'll have to level up my Lawbot and Bossbot suits the regular way. Oh well! Small price to pay, I guess. I'm stoked for next month's Cartoonival! Can't wait 'til the Cavalcade returns!

Barget Wondersnout said on August 23, 2024 at 3:19 PM
Gosh, eleven years... And I've been playing for almost TEN years now! Boy, time flies when you have fun!
