From panels to booth events, it has been a Toontastic day jam packed with silliness. Let’s jump right into the rundown!

Reeling in for Fish Bingo

Kicking off activities at the ToonFest booth, attendees assembled in the fishing competition of a lifetime: Fish Bingo. 

Fishermen with luck on their side filled their Bingo boards and shouted out the magic word! 

That’s not all that was happening at the booth today! A group of players partook in a “musical chairs” VP, where participants sat at the same table and swapped seats every time they selected a gag! They completed the VP in record time. That’s some dedication! 

Backstage Toontown: ToonTales

In a unique rendition of our backstage events, panelists Danny, June, John, Ellie, and Tony dove into untold Toontown stories! 

June’s first year on the team was definitely full of chaos! Getting to see screenshots depicting alpha, closed beta and open beta moments was so nostalgic! Can you believe Toontown Rewritten started out with a bunch of teenagers running things?  

Getting to understand the challenges our Tech Ops and Programming team members face every ToonFest was insightful. Our Technical Toons put so much work into ensuring everything runs smoothly for all Toons, except maybe if you were deploying the Under New Management update. Guilty of falling asleep mid update? Fear not! John will wake you up so it can go out on time! 

One of Toontown Rewritten’s rarest trading cards had a story that kept team members on the edge of their seats as it unfolded. We finally shared the story of how The Fissiontons card came to be, and it truly had twists at every turn! Ellie reminisced about how it unfolded, from an apparent scam website to Joey stressing out an entire company to an ironic foreshadowing of water damage. It’s impressive that any cards survived all of this and made it just in time for ToonFest in 2019!

The last ToonTale, and certainly not least, was told by Tony. While playing the two Under New Management trailers, he walked the audience through all the things happening behind the scenes to make each shot look picture perfect! From Easter eggs of old Toontown Online commercials to dressing up as someone else’s Toon, Tony’s story gave great insight on what went into the creation of these trailers.

Samantha Spade's Silly Scavenger Hunt

For the first time ever, we held an in-game scavenger hunt, sending Toons on the run to figure out the puzzle pieces and discover a secret code word. 

We had some versed Toons in Spade’s shenanigans. Congratulations to Casmir, Corn, Cupcake Leaf, and Callie for being the first to crack the code! 

They weren’t the only Toons that solved the riddle! Congratulations to everyone who uncovered the final clue! Enjoy your rewards! 

For our players at home, worry not! You can participate in the scavenger hunt from the comfort of your own home. From now until December 20th, Samantha Spade’s Silly Scavenger Hunt will be active! Check out below of how to participate!

3. Samantha Spade went off looking for a teacher that’s a ‘fungi’ to be around, in a school where clowns go to learn it all from spoofs to spores! You’ll find her next clue with someone who’s rooted in comedy and has a knack for clowning around with a green thumb.

•  Invite this fun guy to a place where he can boogie!

4. Uh-oh! Sounds like Samantha Spade needed a Toon-Up on a budget! Err, an AUTO tune-up, that is. She went to find someone who hits all the right notes and will ‘insure’ her car will keep on humming in harmony, all without breaking the jellybean bank.

• What do you tell someone when they need to be as quiet as a mouse?

5. Samanatha Spade didn’t realize how cold it would be in Columbus, so she went off to find some mittens! Little did she know, the place in Toontown they ended up in was even chillier. Find her next clue where she dropped off her gloves for an upgrade –We’re sure they’ll be ‘feline’ fine in no time!

• What would a Cat say to Flippy to become as dark as night? 

6. Samantha Spade couldn’t sleep a wink last night, and is looking for a way to stay awake! She trotted—or waddled—off to find a wild ride that’ll wake her right up, any time of day (or night). Find her last clue with a cowboy in the sleepiest area of Toontown!

The Great Toontown Pie Toss

It wouldn’t be ToonFest without our most iconic Toontown tradition! Cleff made dozens of pies for attendees to throw at this ToonFest’s victims: Max, Brie, Tony, and Kaylee! 

With all of these special deliveries, our pie toss victims surely had a Toontastic time cleaning off afterward! 

A Gift-Wrapped Goodbye

Now that the ToonFest booth is wrapped up with a big bow on top, it’s time to bid you farewell! This weekend’s celebration of all things Toontown has been nothing short of delightful, and we’ve thoroughly enjoyed making memories with you all! 

We are so grateful for all the Toons who attended our events, whether that was in-person at the ToonFest booth or at home attending PartnerFest and partaking in the Snowball Fight Extravaganza! 

The party may be over, but the fun never ends in Toontown! Look into the crystal ball, Toons! From August 8th-10th, we’ll be setting up shop at Orlando, Florida at GalaxyCon Animate! 

As the day comes to an end, there’s just one thing left unsaid…
