ToonFest: The Great Fanfair | Day Two Summary

Posted by The Toontown Team on May 25, 2024 at 11:40 PM

Good evening, ladies, gentleToons, and fabulous folks! The curtain has closed on another day at ToonFest: The Great Fanfair, so y’all know what that means! We’re bringing you the second installment of our daily ToonFest updates! There’s no time to waste, so let’s cut to the chase!

The morning started with a relaxing game of Fish Bingo. Dozens of Toons gathered for the event and many were able to win! A few lucky fishermen even caught a Holey Mackerel! I don’t know about you, but I certainly could use that fishing luck!

The ToonFest booth was a part of another special moment between Beryl and Skyler! Congratulations on your engagement, and we wish you the best!

Q&A With the Toontown Team

Our first panel of the day was the highly anticipated Q&A with the Toontown Team! Players both at GalaxyCon OKC and at home asked the team their burning questions! From favorite Toon species to Under New Management to Clear Coasts, there was much to learn and Laff about! A personal favorite was discovering one of the many Easter eggs in the game. Care to find out for yourself? Wear a hard hat in a battle with the Factory Foreman to find out!

Backstage Toontown: Under New Management

After yesterday’s announcement, players were eager to learn more of what happened behind the scenes during the development of Under New Management. Directors of the project led us through various concepts art and shared the progression of how the project slowly came to life! The early captures of the Supervisors was a sight to see! Did you see the Foreman? More like FOREHEAD! That Name Dropper looked like an ant next to the Foreman’s comically stretched out forehead.

The TOONY Awards

Talented Toons from far and wide submitted their Toontastic entries at this year’s annual TOONYs! This year’s categories were video, artwork, limericks, Supervisor Cog Remote Jokes, clothing design, and cosplay! Each category had top-tier submissions, leaving the judges stumbled on picking the winners.

After some hard consideration, the judges finally made their decision. Without further ado, let’s jump right into it!

Artwork -  David/Barget Wondersnout

Video -  TheMcMuffin

Limericks -  Good Ol' Fleabag Thunderburger

Clothing Design -  Sean/Prof. Bananas

Cog Supervisor Remote Jokes -  Darth (Happy), Dogemon, Taylor, and Ellen

Cosplay -  Jesse, Heather, and Forest

Congratulations to all of the winners! If you’d like to see the winners and runner-ups in action, you can watch the TOONY Awards here! Stay TOONed for a future blog post going more in-depth of our event!

Funny Feud

Gloves on buzzers! For the first time ever, Toontown hosted ‘Funny Feud’, Toontown’s spin on the classic ‘Family Feud’ game show. Two teams of five battled head to head, trying to answer what the survey said! There were surely some good answers amongst the two teams, Team Silly and Zany!

This comedic panel was like a Lord Lowden Clear BLAST. Congratulations to Team Zany on winning!

Wow... being at Toonfest for the first time was such an amazing, fantastic experience!!! I had fun playing with my brother and sister on the computers, meeting some toons IRL, meeting the staff, playing Fish Bingo, seeing what you guys did for Under New Management, watching the TOONYs and playing Funny Feud! And when I saw that my drawing was not only featured in the TOONYs... BUT IT WAS THE WINNER OF THE ARTWORK CATEGORY?!!! I had a smile as big as Mr. Hollywood's! It was the first time my art has been shown publicly, so that felt pretty awesome! My favorite part of all was just being there with everyone, and seeing the fun tooniness of the community! I'd say I had a blast, but that'd be sort of an understatement. So I'll just say, THANK YOU TOONTOWN for this great experience!!! I'm looking forward to the next Toonfest!!! TOONS OF THE WORLD UNITE!
