Partner Spotlight: Justice is Blind!

Posted by The Toontown Team on February 18, 2023 at 2:00 PM

Did you see that?

No, what?

That, over there!

Dude, I can’t see what you’re pointing at. I’m blind.

Sweet justice, you aren’t blind -- you’re just wearing a blindfold!

When it comes to Cog Law, we personally don’t know the first thing about it. What’s a clause? Has anyone ever heard of a subsection? And what on earth is a bench?! While we may not know much about the law, a certain group of Toons have made it their mission to legally legalize their understanding of Lawbot law, turning overturned verdicts into turned ones, tossing evidence without skipping a beat, and banging gavels louder than the C.J. himself! You know them, you love them, they’re Justice is Blind!

First and foremost, we always gotta ask: what is your community all about?

Justice is Blind is your one-stop shop for everything Lawbot. We are a community for people who need specific Cog invasions but aren’t ready to fight the C.J., for people who have too many Cog Summons and want to help out their fellow Toon, and for people who are just looking for a group of Toons dedicated to fighting the C.J.!

That’s awesome to hear! What kind of events and services do you host? How do your events typically go? How could one utilize these services?

Have you ever picked up one of those annoying “Defeat 280 Tightwads” ToonTasks by accident? We can help -- no strings attached! All you have to do is join and ask. Here at Justice is Blind, we fulfill summon requests (a specific Cog, buildings, and invasions), host occasional special events, and even host weekly Chief Justice Marathons for our members! Each week, members get to vote for which day of the week they want our Chief Justice Marathon to be on, and what time they want it to be as well. By joining our Discord server, you not only join us for our weekend marathon, but you can request summons too!

Wow, I’ll make sure to check it out after this interview! What is the backstory of your community and how has it changed since its first iteration and/or shaped what it is today? Memorable stories that you’re comfortable sharing with would be really fun to hear about!

Before our server existed, some of the original members frequented the C.J.’s courtroom with full Cog Summons pages. We thought it was silly to have a ‘full book’ and fight the C.J. anyway, but we didn't know what to do with all our summons! Until one day, we’d gotten to talking about how back in Toontown Online, some communities used to do an Invasion Summoning event where they’d call invasions for an entire evening (and back then, you needed them for finishing facilities, too). We thought-- of course, we could do that too!

Just a few hours after our community went live on Discord, it was clear we could do a whole lot more. People had requests for specific Cog invasions at that very moment, not next Tuesday! With so many volunteers, people just started fulfilling requests, and we never looked back.

At its core, our community is built on volunteers (our Advocates), usually people looking to give back to the larger TTR community, and in 2.5 years they’ve answered over 12,000 summons requests. Our staff team is small and mighty, but we couldn’t keep Justice is Blind going without our Advocates -- so if you happen to get a summons request fulfilled by them, please be sure to thank them!

It's incredible to hear about how your community has grown and changed so much since its beginning! Who knew so many Toons wanted to learn about the law? Speaking of, what advice would you give to a newcomer on how to get involved within your community? What ways can they get involved apart from just marathons and are there benefits or opportunities when getting more involved?

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! Nope, it’s just... flying evidence.

Toontown is a game that requires teamwork while leveling ToonTasks. Sometimes these tasks can be a handful, and finding multiple of the specific kind of Cog or Cog building can make it less enjoyable. Here in Justice is Blind, we help fulfill Cog Summons requests for anyone working with ToonTasks or gag training. We occasionally do gag training events with other partnered communities as well. For our weekly C.J. Marathons, it is required to have a Lawbot disguise, but if you don’t have one, that is okay too! With the help of our invasions, wouldn’t it make tasking much quicker? Sooner or later, you’ll be able to join in our C.J. marathons and attempt to win Bumpy’s case! We have some exciting events planned in store, like one of the biggest events we did last year, ‘The Scavengers: Age of Summer.’ It involves a scavenger hunt. Yup, you heard that correctly! Toons were gathered together to help find Bumpy’s 10 assists. They were hiding around Toontown, and each Toon they found unlocks a gag to fight the C.J.! It’s like the Field Offices minigames but more fun! Teamwork makes the dream work!

Will you join us to help save Bumpy Bumblebehr?

You know we will! Now, the most important question: which DA Office puzzle is your favorite, and why is it Skull Finder?

Skull Finder is so fun, it’s pretty much a Toony version of Minesweeper - we love it!

Just kidding. I know you answered that, but here’s your real question: Whose side are you on in the trial of Bumpy Bumblebehr: The Chief Justice or Bumpy Bumblebehr? Why do you choose that side?

Although we really love the Chief Justice battle, we must admit that rescuing Bumpy Bumblebehr is the best part! He’s such a wonderful Toon fighting against the power of the Lawbots! Plus, if we were on the side of the Chief Justice, would we really be Justice is Blind?

Wow, thank you so much for sitting down with us today! If you want to learn more about Justice is Blind, check out their official Discord server by tapping the button below. They’ll give you all the proper legal information you could ever ask for!*

*Note: Justice is Blind has no actual legal experience, and can only provide you legal advice to fight Cogs. Until next time, have a Toontastic day!

Hi I'm Mac, and I'll be your server for this summons. I'm a summoner for this server, i.e. an @Advocate, and always happy to help out when I have summons to spare. fighting the CJ is a blast (from a juror's cannon), and these guys make their runs smoother than a well oiled cog! Check them out, get to know how it works, make a request if you need something, and if you have summons to spare, help out with that!
