The Perfect PlayTime

It's been a week since the 11th Anniversary of Toontown, and thus a week since we implemented the Semi-Open Beta system. As we talked about on Saturday, it has certainly been a wild ride in just this first week! It may have taken us a week to do it, but we're now fully confident in saying that there has never been a better time to schedule the Perfect PlayTime!
We've been working all week on tweaking, fixing, and stabilizing the PlayTime system to the best of our ability based on your feedback -- and after one big update last night and a bit of testing throughout the day, we're happy to report that many of the issues are no more. You should notice much less site downtime, little to no PlayLine resets, and plenty PlayTimes as long as you're patient!
Now, we're not saying this system is flawless by any means. Throughout all of Beta, we're still listening to your feedback and tweaking the system based on it. We are confident, however, that it is in a much more usable state than it was throughout the week. We couldn't have fixed it without your feedback and bug reports! Just in case we do have stability issues again, we went ahead and increased the PlayLine timeout to 15 minutes -- meaning you can leave the page for 15 minutes before it stops holding your place in line. Additionally, there are plenty of sanity checks and performance boosts put in place to do our best to make sure that no toon gets left behind.
In the meantime, now that we've stabilized, we're going to be dedicating our time to fixing all of these bugs that our new testers have reported. (Did we mention that there have been 40,000 new accounts in the past week? Holy smokes!) Thanks a bunch to everyone who has reported bugs with both PlayTime and the game, thus helping more toons get in! Once we fix a few more bugs we'll be able to open up even more PlayTime slots for everyone once again, so make sure to keep an eye out!

• Another big Whitelist update. Keep giving us words to add so we can make chatting easier for everyone!
Bugfixes:
• Fix a server crash relating to friends when deleting a toon
• Prevent a handful of nasty crashes relating to bad field updates
Tweaks:
• Fix a typo in certain disconnection messages
• Modernize dialogue for a few shopkeepers in Toontown Central
Features:
• Toon HQ has passed out 190 more beta key tasks!
Website:
• Fix an issue with upgrading existing accounts with Beta Keys
• Change PlayLine timeout time from 5 minutes to 15 minutes
• Change PlayLine refresh rate from 45 seconds to 2 minutes
• Many stability and performance improvements with the Semi-Open Beta system. Thanks for giving us feedback!

In another post (I can't remember which) it said you fixed a bug where the PlayLine would bring you back up to 30 minutes after hitting zero. That has happened to me twice after the announcement of it being fixed. Help soon?

I have DEFINITELY noticed an improvement in the PlayLine. It's been more consistent and not as jumpy. Although it still has raised my time, albeit rarely, I completely understand. Thanks for all the hardwork TTR Staff!

OH EM GEE I am toonstatic!!! The launcher kept crashing last night so my 3 hours turned into 25mins of playing... but I made it on time to schedule a time for June 16th at 1pm! :) I could not explain how happy I truly am!! :) Thanks TTR for bringing my childhood game back to life! :) I am only hoping to get a Beta key when I do play! HARD WORK!

I just finished my PlayTime! I didn't get very far but it was fun while it lasted. There was a lot of lag and some disconnections, but other than that, it was great!

i've been sitting in the playline for over a week now without closing my browser, and my time has gone down to 20 hours, then jumped back up to 80 and 100 hours every day. i'm starting to think i'm just never going to get to play, even if i wait in line for 3 months. it's pretty discouraging...........

Great, work, guys! I've given up on scheduling a playtime and waiting in the playline, mainly due to the fact that it doesn't coordinate with my schedule very well. Every time I've tried the playline, my time keeps going up rather than down, which is a bit discouraging. But seeing the progress you're making shows me that it won't be long before we can all play. I can't wait!

I like the new update! I think it would be better If there were more PlayTime spots (rather than just 30), as they fill up quickly! But the Playline is working very well for me :)

Wow, I'm happy. I got to play today and loved playing Toontown again! The only bugs I found were that I always got stuck on the TTC loading page, and that I crashed when trying to change districts. Anyway, thank you Toontown Rewritten! [And if you could possibly add my name to the white list, that'd be great :)]

I am very glad to hear that many of the issues have been resolved. Even though I was only able to play long enough to get on the trolley and play 2 games before the system crashed, I was so excited that my name was approved. It was very exciting to enter into the game that I played when it first came out years ago. Thanks for all your hard work. Looking forward to playing more than 10 min. next time. Hee hee!!!

This game so far doesn't like me at all. I log in for the first time and cuts 30 minutes off my playtime session. Then I get in and barely get to play for just a minute before it disconnects me. I try again, login is much shorter but disconnects me within minutes. Overall, I am not one happy camper D: -Dynamite

i hate this playtime i can never get a playtime and every time i wait in line when i reach 13 hours it takes me back to 44 hours! i will never play my childhood game because of these bugs :(

I've got a suggestion. I think there should be an option to increase your time in the playline queue, giving up your spot to the person behind you. That way we can have more control over when we play (I have only 4 hours left, but I'll be at school!) and it won't hurt anything. Other than that, this system is AWESOME! I can't wait to play again!

I like the PlayTime system a lot, but everyone seems to clog the scheduling so I can't get a time scheduled :/. Maybe you can open the schedule up 30 or so minutes prior to the PlayTime but have a smaller group of Toons in this scheduling time. It would make it easier to get in and it wouldn't clog the servers. Thanks!

Beta Key tasks should be able to be earned when you finish Donalds Dock instead of Daisy Gardens, it took me 1 hour to finish Toontown Central, and 1 hour and 45 minutes to finish Donalds Dock, by then, I should have enough time to get a beat key

Im so sad that we cant just get in to play when ever we want. I tried the other night when the site was very slow and it said 62 hours, I cant leave the page open for that long, now it says 72 hours and my son wants to play now. Will this ever be a possibility? 72 hours is a long time to wait to play. :(

So far it's absolutely stunning. However, I figured as a tester it's my job to inform you guys of what is missing that I've noticed so far. 1. As you probably well know, the estate is a wee bit underdeveloped. Clarabelle's phone is not in the house, nor is the jellybean bank. And I can only assume that you guys are working to get the gardening aspect worked back into the game. 2. While battling cogs I've noticed so far that the other cogs on the street do not ever join the battle. I'm not complaining about this fact but it was one of the aspects of the old game that made it rather challenging. 3. Also, the notifcations about playtime remaining are showing up a multitude of times. I don't know whether or not that is intended but I figured I'd throw that out there

You guys are doing great on the website. The only thing i have noticed on the website that is messed up is how long the playline is! I and many others have to wait about 1-2 days to play and i've been trying the past 3-4 days but II havn't gotten on once! Please add more spots as soon as possible.

I don't know why, but whenever I try to use the playline, I keep it open, and it bumps me back somewhere around 3-5 hours, and it is impossible to get in the playtime. If you can, please fix this.

in my first experience playing toontown after so long, i am happy to say that everything went well for the most part. but there is a bug with the trolly. the first game i played was the catching game, and nothing fell, no anvils/apples. then after the game was over, nobody showed up, and the game crashed before i was in the shop buying gags. and then there was the occasional crash every now and then. but thats about all i can say, other than that it was amazing! the 3 hours went by way to fast

I've been in the play line with my window open for 5 days and it will go all the way down to 20 something hours and then resets again. :( (I have all updates shut down, etc. as to not interfere, computer is left on and never shut down, open separate windows when performing other tasks and check on it regularly.) I've also tried many times to schedule an appointment and they are always full. Any help/suggestions? Anyway, thank you all there at TTR for all your hard work! You guys are the best! I'm so excited to be playing this game again! It's a good thing I don't usually shut down my computer at night, so I can keep the PlayLine tab open so I won't lose my spot.
